From Tamban to San Jose: A Historic Barangay and a School with Roots

Published October 6, 2026 · Kerusso Christian Academy

San Jose is one of the older communities of Dasmariñas. On July 18, 1899, the sitio then called Tamban was elevated to the status of a barrio, later taking the name San Jose. Families here understand the value of deep roots — and so does Kerusso Christian Academy.

A school born from a community

KCA grew out of a vision received by Rev. Anthony V. Velasco in June 2000: to establish a Christian school that would make a difference in Dasmariñas. Church families saw an urgent need for a school that combined strong academics with a solid Biblical foundation.

The school opened its doors in 2008 and has served Dasmariñas families since.

Building on firm foundations

KCA’s mission is to lay firm Christian foundations for world-class graduates through spiritual formation, academic excellence, and social commitment — in a disciplined but enjoyable and caring environment.

It offers Preschool through Junior High School with classes of around 18 students.

Rooted, then ready

Just as San Jose has grown while keeping its identity, KCA aims to raise students who are grounded in faith and ready for the future — productive, self-confident citizens with a purpose for life.

San Jose families are warmly invited to visit KCA.
