As we open School Year 2020 – 2021, adapting to the new normal, KCA will be shifting to online education using synchronous and asynchronous Learning.
Synchronous learning is a kind of learning that happens in real time that allows active interaction among students and teachers through an online medium, at a specific time. This includes video conferencing and live-streaming lectures. On the other hand, asynchronous learning can be carried out both online and offline. It involves coursework given by the teacher to the students through an online platform. In this kind of learning the students can work on their own pace within a flexible time frame.
Parents/guardians are free to choose the modality that would suit their capacity in consultation with the teachers. This is to cater all students and still observe modified individualized learning and also, to be able to adjust and respond to each student’s needs.
In line with this, we will be using different platforms to support and enhance our online learning.
Edmodo is a global education network that helps connect all learners with the people and resources needed to reach their full potential. It is a Learning Management System (LMS) for students, teachers, and parents.
Zoom for Education enhance and expand classes with powerful collaboration tools, including video breakout rooms, multi-sharing, polling, and group chats. Create and repurpose video content into easily-digested hosted videos that allow students to learn at their own pace.
